LONDON XI - little and LARGE

Oh little and large, sweet little and large! If little and large be the music of football play on; give me excess of it surfeiting, the appetite may sicken, and so die.

little and LARGE.

So long a staple of the English game. Indeed, so long a staple to the very logic of modernity. Little, meaning small; fleeting, elfin. Large, meaning big; capacious, direct. Two tangled cosmic forces in perfect balance, two facets of the same platonic form. The true adam and eve. The supreme binary.

And then, there's Crouch.
